Homemade Gourmet Hamburger Sauce

Come on! Take that cheeseburger up a level! Make yourself a gourmet sauce ala Big Mac to lively up your juicy burgers! It takes little time and really makes a huge difference.

Two all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions on a sesame Bun? If you know what I am talking about, you experienced the hamburger revolution when McDonalds exploded on the market. I was just a kid and going to McDonalds was a huge event. This sauce is like the famous Big Mac sauce. It is definitely the base and you just have to tweek it to your liking. I am sure it has more sugar than mine. I added dill and paprika but you can also add or replace with other spices such as Cayenne Pepper, Smoky Paprika, Chili, cumin, or tarragon to name a few options.

How long will burger sauce last?

Stored in an air tight container in the refrigerator it will last up to two weeks. At a big party - about 1/2 hour!!

    How to make a delicious hamburger sauce
  • 1/2 cup Mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons Ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon White Vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Finely chopped cornichons (Or pickle relish)
  • 1 tablespoon Finely chopped or grated onion (or 1 teaspoon onion powder)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon Dill
  • 1/2 teaspoon Dry Mustard Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon Pepper
  1. How to make a homemade delicious Hamburger Sauce

    In a medium-sized bowl, add the mayo, ketchup, and vinegar.

    Chop and grate the onions and add to the mixture.

    Finely chop the cornichons and add to the mixture.

    Add all the herbs and salt and pepper.

    Mix well. 

    Best if you let refrigerate for a few hours if possible.

    Ready to serve!
