Tartar Sauce is so much better than store bought. If you keep capers and cornichons in stock, You probably have all the ingredients.
A great sauce for fried fish, roast beef, fondue chinoise, hamburgers.
So easy to make and such a difference from store bought!
Interestingly enough, Tartar Sauce does not come from the UK but actually from France. I always imagined it from the UK because of the Fish & Chips, but I was wrong. Do Tartare and Tartar have something in common?
There is also a lot of flexibility when it comes to herbs. One can just add dill, or tarragon, herbs de Provence, or Italien seasoning, etc. For my homemade tartar sauce for Fondue Chinoise, I just used dill this time but really I love it also with Tarragon.
And what about the Mayonnaise? If you have the time, of course it is better if you make it yourself.
